Great news .....Lefty , the dear sidekick of Pancho, will be able to be spared!!!!!

My doctor is going to go ahead with a "lumpectomy" which will spare Lefty. (although they need to take about 25% of it). Soooooo...lucky me I get to visit with a plastic surgeon this week to upgrade Lefty when it is all healed.

I guess it will be known as the New and Improved Lefty? Inflatable Lefty?......

I'm baccccccckkkkkkk....
Sorry about the vacation. Now that the holidays have come and gone I will not be doing my O.J Simpson impressions for awhile (no...not wearing mysterious black gloves and writing tell all books) but running through airports to catch the next plane.

Well this new year is already off to a BAD start. I had an unsual mammogram/ultra-sound in early December. So, this week I went for a my biopsies.

The news that one never wants to hear is now my reality. I have Stage 1 "Breast C". I cannot even spell out the word. Anyway, I am in good hands with an excellent surgeon here. I am going to have to get a modified radical masectomy (basically removal and reconstruction of my beloved "Lefty") Pancho is unharmed at this time and will carry on .

I have to talk to some plastic surgeons btw. now and my scheduled surgery.

Anyway, form what I know my prognosis is about 98% recovery. All I can say is be pro-active on your health!!!!

Remember when tanning was in? Well, no more my friends.

About a week ago I went to my dermatologist to get two (not one!) but two basal cell melanomas removed. Yep, I had skin cancer from the big ball in the sky.

Thankfully, my docor called and confirmed that they successfully removed all the cancerous cells.

So instead of two melanomas I now will have two scars one on each side of my legs.

I've affectionitely named them "Lurch" and "Uncle Fester". (not ever be confused with my boobs-Pancho and Lefty).

But what a new addition Lurch and Uncle Fester will make.....

Thursday at work I overhead that a 5th grade girl brought a vibrator to school.

She explained to her male 5th grade teacher, "It relaxes me and makes me feel REALLY good."

He told his 5th grade female co-teacher that he had " A female non-dress code issue for her to work with." I think this incident took exactly 30 minutes to make its way through the entire school!

At least its better than bringing a gun to school. Vibrators for everyone!!!!!!

As some of you all know I have recently taken up the game of golf again.

It has been a more positive experience than it was 6 years ago....when I got rid of my clubs....hahaha
anyway, I am making good progress (according to my golf group and teacher).

Now .......gasp...horrors....egads...its time to go out on an ACTUAL course.

Anyone have any good ideas , recommendations for some courses in Austin? Any one out there brave enough to go with me????

Another ACL has come and gone...sigh. Here are my top 5 or so musical (not crowd, food, beverage or clothing related moments) from ACL.

#5. Not being able to hear Willie Nelson - and having people chant "turn it up", "turn it up"- as in the amplifiers

#4 Flaming Lips and their unusual stage show- hey it was complete with space aliens and santa claus's. It is Austin so
I could understand space aliens....but Santa Claus's?!?!?!? I don't know what these dudes put in their coffee in the
morning ,but it sure must be good.....hehhe

#3 Gnarls Barkley- Too bad I didn't know about his "pre-show" at Stubb's on Thursday night- this guy rocks!!!
Will probably also be the next new contestant on "Celebrity Weighloss"- along with the likes of Carnie Wilson

#2 Matisyahu- let's hear it for forming a new "genre" of music - Hasidic Jewish reggae, rap!!! I'm hoping it will catch
on ....this guy sold out Stubb;'s earlier this year in 4 hours for his show. Plus aren't we all sick of looking at Britney
Spears abs anyway?!?!?!?!

#1 Ben Kweller- Kudos go out to this guy. He had a massive nose-bleed in the middle of his performance and asked for
help.......via a tampon! He shoved a tampon up his nose so he could continue playing. Now , he has true ACL spirit (I also heard that he and his wife are currently looking for a place to live in Austin).

ESPN College Game Day Radio crew arrived promptly a half hour late on Friday afternoon. This meant that I was unable to meet up with them until the BIG DAY-SATURDAY!!!!!

Fast forward to Saturday:
2:30 p.m. arrive at Scholz's Beer Garden and go straight to ESPN Radio set-up. Met by Patrick Ferguson (Marketing for ESPN out of Dallas), Lonnie-production man, Daryl O'Neal (ESPN Radio local media guy), Keith Goralski (Senior ESPN Radio producer-aka my brothers "handler"). Go to ESPN Radio area and hang out all day....

3:45 p.m. (approx) Desmond Howard (Heisman Trophy winner for Michigan) comes to make commentary on ESPN College Game Day Radio- talk with him briefly and he congratulates me on having twins....err....what?!?!?!? Then he asks me if I'm Dave Revsine's wife. I said no, I'm his sister......anyway, then he apologizes and we talk about the upcoming game. Really nice guy and shorter than I though he';s be.

3:45-6:00-Hob-nob, pick on OSU fans and throw out general ESPN swag.

6:30-arrive at game and have great seats in the 4th row of the student section (great view of the Longhorn end zone) and field.

7:30ish-notice that LeBron James (Cleveland Cavalier player) is at the game with no less than 5 other people in his posse!!! Scary that he gets on the field!!!! Evidently he is from Cleveland or Toledo or somewhere in Ohio and stands on the Ohio State side.

9:00ish-notice that Matthew McConaghey is on UT side-line -appears to be "under the influence" of something.....stupdity? general whatever? Who knows.....

10:00ish game mercifully and sadly ends and go meet up with friends to drown UT sorrows.....

BTW- Did anyone know that a "Buckeye" is a giant poisonous nut and that the team mascot name is "Brutus the Buckeye". Still not as cool a mascot as Bevo or Bucky the Badger (my alma-mater from Wisconsin who by the way beat Western -Illinois!!!!!)

Yep, I finally did it....

I got a new set of golf clubs. They are totally stylin' and with my great new stand bag ( beer cooler is with the bag!) I am ready to hit the greens. Well, at least take some nice beers to the greens...

Should be interesting as my brother who is an on-air personality for ESPN College Game Day Radio and SportsCenter will be in town this next weekend for the big UT/Ohio State Game. He is a pretty good golfer with about a 12-13 handicap. (I just want to hang with him..) lol

Weekend Review

Last weekend started pretty easily;

Friday- Went to go see Tommy Chong speak at Book People-glad I got there early as 250 other people decided that he would be great to listen to as well. He was great, very much like he was with Cheech Marin and also on that 70;'s Show. I suggest to read his book "I Chong" which is a take off on "I Ching"..he wrote it while he was in prison for selling a "water-pipe" to an undecover DEA agent on-line. Whatever....don;t the feds have better things to do than arrest Tommy Chong?

Saturday- Chom Son Volunteer party...what more can I say?!?!?! Great food, great company and a GREAT place to be!!!!

Cannot wait to eat more yummy food there :) Let the pictures that @ss Gagger and others took speak for themselves...bwahahaha . Can anyone say karoake? Wow...karoake overload....

I overheard this study done in Germany on the radio the other day.

Evidently, hair color (blonder, brunette red-head) is a hot topic in Europe.

Seems that in this study they found that people dye their hair red when they want something to "change" in their life. The study showed that women with red hair got the most attention from men.

Being born a red-head and having had red-hair my entire life I wanted to call in and beg to differ.

Any thoughts out there on this????

Got your attention didn't I?!??!?! Bwahahaha

Ok, now for the scoop. No, I have not found "extra-curricular" work as a circus act or sold myslef into white slavery. I went to the golf driving range for the first time in six years with CHERRY POPPER.

So there we were with CP's Dad's old clubs when I mean old they still had all the original grips on them and everything. Not great to hit with , but quite the collectors item!

After buying a bucket of 60 balls and demo-ing out two clubs we were on our way! 60 balls later we decided we didn't suck (directionality was an issue) but we went for the big bucket of balls. Who can think of more fun on a Thursday afternoon than a big bucket of 100 balls?!?!?!

Getting pointers from the kids next to us we figured out how to "whack" those balls pretty far.
After about 2 hours of grabbing shafts and whacking balls it was margarita time......off to Baby A's and now Guerro's.

"FORE!" anyone?
